IceClean Systems now offers our upgraded, on-sander system, AbraSand™4.0. The system includes 1) a dry ice blaster, 2) a control panel with PLC system and Human Machine Interface (HMI) (mounted on a metal stand), 3) a mounted Manifold for each sanding head, containing both dry ice and air valves, fittings, and electronics, and 4) chain-driven tracking rail for each head (including all motors, brackets, hoses, wiring, insulation, guns, limit switches, and nozzles), all installed. AbraSand™4.0 components are rated for hundreds of thousands of cycles.

Our AbraSand4.0™ system is capable of controlling an unlimited number of sanding heads, password-protected programming for various cleaning cycles and sequences, adding additional heads to clean, and various durations of time for cleaning for each head.  Purge controls are included, so that all ice lines can be purged at the operators’ desire. Also included is a manual override, which allows a cleaning cycle to be interrupted, if needed, and then restarted manually. The operation manual is included within the system for viewing on the human interface.

As any other upgrades or other modifications to the programming are desired, they can easily be made to this system via programming or expansion of the system, and additional components can also be added as needed. For example, this system can include programming for logging of each belt cleaning per each head, making sander operators’ old manual belt logs obsolete, via electronic-recording of each cleaning of each of the abrasive belts. If this modification is chosen, AbraSand™4.0’s data will be available for management review (upon demand) in Excel and many other formats, for any combination of periods, any shifts, any product, and for any combination of sanding heads. This real-time information could be immediately utilized by management to: 1) evaluate the sander operator’s compliance with the abrasive belt cleaning schedule, and abrasive cleaning procedures, but also to 2) evaluate attainment of management goals for extended abrasive life, actual abrasive use, and cost per unit of production. These options could be very cost effective after operational needs are all determined and implemented.

-This technology, which we have since improved, won the Challengers Award, the top award at IWF competition for this patented abrasive belt cleaning technology. The Challengers Award competition is based on technology that 1) is most innovative, 2) provides the most cost-effective economic benefit to the wood manufacturing industry, 3) enhances plant safety, 4) improves the environment, 5) reduces downtime or enhances production, 6) improves quality assurance, and 7) reduces overall energy consumption.

-In addition to winning the Challengers Award, the AWFS Show awarded this technology the Sequoia Award for environmental innovation and leadership in conservation techniques, applications and processes for this patented belt cleaning technology. In addition, this system won three of the four New Product Showcase Awards. Our belt cleaning technology won for Innovative Technology, Ergonomics and Safety.

Since we have acquired this technology, we have worked to and have succeeded in making the system more industrial, effective, and ergonomic than it was when the awards were won. Several hardware and software enhancements have maximized the functionality and efficiencies of the systems.
Ice Clean Systems manufacturers dry ice cleaning and dry ice blasting systems and is a pioneer in the automation of dry ice cleaning systems. Ice Clean Systems dry ice cleaning and dry ice blasting systems utilize small, rice-sized particles of dry ice as the cleaning media. The particles of dry ice will not generate any secondary waste from the cleaning media.

Ice Clean Systems is the leader, and innovator, in the field of dry ice blasting, and dry ice cleaning technology, providing experience and service for the mold remediation, fire restoration, abrasive belt cleaning, general industrial, food processing, electrical and nuclear applications.

Ice Clean Systems dry ice cleaning systems and technology(s) have received national and international awards in the areas of safety, ergonomics, economics, innovation and environmental.
