The general specifications for our standard AbraSand™-Cabinet are as follows. The following specs are for a cabinet designed to clean two different sizes of sanding belts. The cabinets can be modified to clean from one size of belt circumference to various sizes of belts, and modified for belt widths also. The AbraSand™ process is non-destructive and can clean both cloth and paper belts without moisture.
 
– Enclosed metal cabinet (powder-coated) with the following approximate dimensions: (8’wide x 7 1/2’high x 3’deep). The cabinet is equipped with multiple duct boot ports allowing for attachment to the plant ventilation system for belt debris removal, and accommodates belts up to 60” wide.
 
– The cabinet contains a tempered-glass or poly eye-level viewing window, internal lighting, and has adjustable belt width mechanical limit switches. The cabinet opens from the left side with a hinged door to allow for the insertion and removal of the belts. The drive roller structure has been strengthened to allow for the belts to be installed and removed without the need for a roller stabilizer to be fastened and unfastened.
 
– Internal components include one power drive roller and an adjustment/ tensioning roller, with optional idler roller(s). The power roller is rotated by a heavy-duty, high-torque, continuous-duty electric motor. The two-tier tensioning configuration allows for quick adjustments to accommodate belts between two different circumferences (for instance between 75” and 103” belts). The cabinet has been designed to quickly seek and adjust to two primary belt cleaning positions, allowing for a much quicker belt tensioning/de-tensioning procedure.
 
– A protected easy access, chain-driven tracking rail, installed inside of the cabinet, carries the blasting gun and nozzle the width of the belts to be cleaned. All necessary internal air and dry ice hoses and piping, complete with fittings and insulation are included. Bi-directional movement of the blasting gun is accomplished with a low-voltage, high-torque, continuous duty-cycle electric motor.
 
– An internally mounted dry ice blaster is included in the cabinet, requiring dry ice cleaning media, compressed air, and 110V electricity (15 amp service) for the Cleaning Cabinet to be operational. Optimal minimum air requirements for effective cleaning and efficient dry ice use for abrasive belts are 90 psi @ 250 cfm. Evacuation flow should exceed the cfm for blasting air for proper removal of particulate.
 
– The cabinet includes a programmable PLC/HMI Touchscreen Control Panel, which will control the speed and direction of the gun, belt circumference positioning, belt tensioning, and the necessary dry ice blaster initiation, purge controls, and emergency stop.
